It is observed that Reoxcel hemostats provide bactericidal effect against 40 types of microorganisms for in vitro studies.
The impact mechanism of the Reoxcel hemostatic agents developed for using in surgical fields where other hemostatic procedures are inapplicable is fast and sterile thanks to oxidized regenerated cellulose (ORC) (polyanhydride glucuronic acid) content. Reoxcel hemostat agents offers coagulation in approximately 3-4 minutes, completely absorbed in 7-14 days and show antibactericidal effect against 40 types of gram- and gram+ microorganisms.
How Does Reoxcel Hemostats Have Bactericidal Effect?
Reoxcel absorbable hemostats highlighted with their antibacterial properties offer in vitro bactericidal effect against 40 types of spectrum gram+ and gram- microorganisms. Reoxcel absorbable hemostat does not have a pH value in dry format and reaches to pH 3-4 when applied to bleeding tissue. The blood pH is approximately 7.4 which is an ideal environment for the microorganisms to thrive. The optimum growth range for the microorganisms is pH 4.4-9. Microorganisms become less active in the acidic environment and die under pH 3.0. The laboratory tests with Reoxcel hemostats revealed that these hemostats offer bactericidal effect against 40 types of microorganisms.
